Success by Using the Passive House Concept

High quality of living and thermal comfort as well as cost effective construction and low running costs even with increasing energy prices - that is what builders and renters require. Up-to-date architecture and innovative technologies are emphases of architects and designers.

The Conference on Passive Housee is the internationally established forum for the highest energy efficiency in the field of buildings / construction. The Tenth Conference on Passive Houses will take place the 19. and 20. Mai 2006 in Hannover / Germany. On May 21st a study trip will allow participants to visit passive houses and exemplary modernizations in the region of Hannover.

Preserve Values
The building stock is one of the most important capital stocks in Europe. It is of high value with respect to culture and society. Future conditions are increasing requirement on comfort, mitgation of global warming and increasing energy prises. This calls for a forward-looking maintainance and a sustainable refurbishment. The Passive House concept and Passive House components are providing means for these developments.

Create Added Values
Let's go the whole hog – that is the motto for every construction to be done, whether it is a new building or a refurbishment of an old one. It is not only the actual very high energy prises, which lead us to this insight: The additional investment for a improved window, a better insulation and a more efficient heat recovery are cost effective. These measures pay back not only by the reduced energy costs, but by healthier living conditions and increased comfort, dring winter and during summer. The Passive House defines the up-to-date state of the art in energy efficient construction and refurbishment. Components for Passive Houses allow for an economical optimum and extraordinary good comfort. The added value gives advantages: The users will profit from low running costs and high comfort, the owners by the increased attractivity of the building, the designers and the construction sector by added value and the national economy by additional employment and by greenhouse gas emission mitigation.

Protect a Livable Future
Whether new construction or refurbishment: High efficiency standars are a contribution to protect a livable future: Direct, by means of the reduced running costs and the protection against high cost szenarios, by protection of the construction and better thermal comfort – but also indirect by the creation of inland added value, employment and CO2-mitigation.
