Bahnstadt, a neighborhood of 116 hectares, is Heidelberg's first district to be entirely constructed to the Passive House Standard. A total of 57,000 m² of treated floor area has been built since 2010, including residential buildings, day care centers, shops, and office and laboratory buildings, and another 102,000 m² is currently under construction.
