Darmstadt/Innsbruck/Vienna, 09.06.2011 - The 15th International Passive House Conference can rightly be called the world’s largest conference on energy-efficient construction as a result of its awesome agenda. Half of the 1200 Conference participants from 50 countries came from non-German-speaking countries. The most comprehensive conference programme that has ever been presented at a Passive House Conference was offered this time. Over 80 international “Passive House Beginners” attended an English-language Passive House Basics Seminar on 25th May, which took place at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Innsbruck. On 26th and 29th May, a total of 9 Passive House Excursions were organised for about 450 participants, so that all the information gathered during the many presentations could also be actually experienced by them, in the true sense of the word. This also included some special excursions, like the visit to Passive House public buildings that was organised for the local government representatives of the City of Oslo, and the visit to the world’s largest Passive House residential complexes, the Lodenareal and O3 Olympia Village in Innsbruck that was organised for a group of Korean conference participants and a Russian delegation, including members of the State Duma.

Innsbruck, 28.05.2011 - More than 1,200 participants from more than 50 countries will meet to discuss sustainable solutions at the world’s important convention for energy efficient construction in Innsbruck. Eight plenary talks, 72 presentations, 30 poster presentations and a freely accessible components exhibition will round off the event. Innsbruck, 28.05.2011 – While the rest of the world discusses ways to solve the energy supply problem, more than 80 experts at International Passive House Conference this weekend in Innsbruck will demonstrate how even today the energy consumption in the building sector can be reduced by around 80%. 16 working groups (German/English/French) will look at the regional implementation of the Standard and discuss topics like refurbishments, heat supply, non-residential constructions and economic efficiency. Deputy Governor Anton Steixner, local councillor Hans Haller, Vice Principal Arnold Klotz of the University of Innsbruck and Theodor Zillner of the Federal Ministry of Transport Innovation and Technology in Austria will inaugurate the Conference on Friday.

Darmstadt/Innsbruck/Vienna, 12.05.2011 - The Passive House saves 80-95% energy as well as CO2 emissions, and its construction is hardly more expensive than that of conventional buildings. It is therefore not surprising that there are already 32,000 buildings in Europe that have been built to the Passive House Standard, which has already established itself as a trend-setter for energy-efficient construction and also forms the basis for the "Nearly Zero Energy Building". The world's largest convention for energy-efficient construction will be held in Innsbruck from 27th-28th May 2011 where more than 1,200 participants will discuss solutions for sustainable construction.

Darmstadt/Innsbruck/Vienna, 06.04.2011 - The answer to the question of which energy is most environmentally acceptable is: less energy. Good energy efficient solutions are characterised by the fact that they provide more comfort and safety besides saving energy. They represent an advantage for users as well as investors and benefit the regional and European economy. In the case of buildings, the Passive House represents such a solution. This year the International Passive House Conference will take place in Austria. Highly efficient approaches for sustainable construction will be presented at the world’s most important and largest convention for energy efficient construction from 27th to 28th May 2011. Participants from all economic and business sectors are invited to join the committed Passive House regions.
